CROSSWALK (4) produced a much better performance last start when third behind Anisau. The Street Sense mare hit the line in a determined fashion and based on that effort can go close today. Lucy Warwick returns to Kalgoorlie today and will be aboard BOHEMIAN GODDESS (8). The filly can improve today after finishing close up last start. The second on the card is a maiden event over the short course. The Craig Wright trained THIS FOX ROCKS (8) finished close up behind One For The Gals last start when third. M’LADY HALLOWELL (6) has been transferred back to Peter Fernie for her twentieth career start. The Wanted mare was under the care of Fernie for her only career win and was extremely consistent last season in the Goldfields. ARTIE’S BELLE (7) is having her seventh start today. Race six on the card has many winning chances in the field of nine. Dave Smith has ATTAMOR (3) engaged in the event who has shown he can race on pace. Lucy Warwick will pilot the Trade Fair five year old who is coming off a second behind Tahgeo Jay. Top weight YEAH YEAH YEAH (1) has had three runs now and should go close with the claim of Casey Hunter. The Oratorio gelding finished third last start when racing close to the pace. NINGBO (5) annihilated her rivals last start when winning by six lengths. The Star Witness filly will be tested today with a big step up in class. BRASCO’S BOY (2) had excuses last start when returning lame. His maiden win prior was impressive.
R7 PALACE HOTEL GOLD BAR SPRINT 1200m 4:10
The feature of the day appears to have a certain leader. The Ashley Grace trained LORD HATRAS (3) will be looking for successive victories coming off an impressive victory last start. The Lord Dane seven year old pounced to the lead early last start and was never headed in the run to the line. Bel Esprit mare CROWN SAGA (4) was grabbed late last start by Comanche Red when finishing second. The five year old has won six from twenty-four locally and is well weighted in the event. COMANCHE RED (1) dug deep last start when coming from the tail to win with 58kg. The Newton trained galloper will have to lump 59.5kg today incorporating the claim of up and coming apprentice Sarah Bonner. HELLYER (6) hasn’t finished too far away at his past couple of starts. The last on the card has the biggest field of the day engaged. The Peter Fernie trained JINGTANG (1) looks hard to beat coming off his most recent performance. Jordan Turner will ride the Starcraft three year old who will settle rearwards. The top weight will jump from the outside gate. Stablemate EMJYE (5) finished close up behind the consistent Roadsinger last start. Ben Kennedy will pilot the son of Reset from barrier four. Esperance galloper RIPPING YARN (8) has the form lines to figure in the event. Tayla Stone will be looking to celebrate another victory with trainer Tracey Frizzell. The six year old is yet to win at the track but has placed on seven occasions from fifteen attempts. HARMONY QUEEN (11) almost upset Quaddie punters two weeks back when failing in a protest against Roadsinger. The five year old’s strike rate is poor but she can surprise.
