R1 RADIO WEST MAIDEN 1200m 1:10
A field of eleven will go over the 1200m in the first on the card with the rail at three metres today. The Rickie Brown trained SCHOOLS OUT (4) has been knocking on the door with placings at her past two starts. The Ad Valorem mare will have the services of Shaun Mc Gruddy for the first time today. The lightly raced five year old has been getting back in her races before hitting the line strongly. DOUBLE LIGHT (9) produced a fair track debut last start when finishing fourth behind Snippetism on Hannans Handicap day. The Artie Schiller filly will have her second run for Peter Fernie today. The three year old will get in with just 52.5kg with the claim of apprentice Tayla Stone. DAIRY QUEEN (11) produced a promising debut last start when finishing fourth over the 1100m. Brad Parnham will ride the Henny Hughes three year old when she steps up to the 1200m today. The chestnut will be aided by drawing the inside which may mean she can settle a bit closer to the speed today when compared to last start. HINCHIN’ A RIDE (2) hasn’t been too far away at her past couple and should be kept safe.
R2 KBRC PUNTERS CLUB 2016 HANDICAP 1100m 1:50
A compact field of seven will go over the short course in the second on the card. Esperance galloper WASHINGTON SQUARE (2) was extremely unlucky last start when failing to obtain a split in the home straight. The six year old was climbing over the top of them but couldn’t get clear running having to settle for fourth. PRAGER (1) looks like he can get a soft lead in this event. The claim of Mollie Clark looks to enhance his chances greatly. He has won five of sixty-three starts and they have all been over the 1100m distance. RIKKI TIKKI TAVI (3) has been narrowly beaten at his past three starts. The Shrewd Rhythm five year old gets back in his runs over the short course but has an electrifying turn of foot in the run to the line. This will be his third run in three weeks but if he can perform in a similar manner he will go close to taking out the race. LET ME IMPRESS (4) looks to be a place chance in the event. The five year old finished sixth last start behind Pegatego when settling in the second half of the field. Chanelle O’Grady will have her first ride on the mare today.
R3 DR BRENT HUNT HANDICAP 1100m 2:30
The third on the card has an even bunch of gallopers to go over the 1100m. CHANTEGO STAR (3) has performed well since arriving on the Goldfields with a win and a placing from the two starts locally. Barrier three combined with a solid effort ten days ago should see the Flying Pegasus mare go close today. JEBEL MUSA (2) has the ability to reel off a strong sectional. The five year old has won his only race over the 1000m making today suitable. MU MU LAND (8) struck the lead last start only to be headed late and finish third. The Bowen trained galloper is well performed over the short course. PRAYER IN CEE (1) is racing well and is an each way chance in the event.
R4 OFFICE NATIONAL HANDICAP 1400m 3:10
The fourth on the card looks a race where punters will get a reasonable price on what they settle on. ADRIAN MAKFI (2) was superb on Kalgoorlie Cup day when winning by a clear margin. The cheap purchase steps up to the 1400m which based on the pattern of his last win doesn’t look to be a problem. ALL ADRIFT (3) was strong last start when second over the 1200. The Bermingham trained gelding looks one that will be competitive in provincial company going forward. FOR THE FALLEN (4) will get back in the race and do his best work late. Shaun Mc Gruddy will partner the five year old who is looking for his second victory. BOOM BOOM BANG (1) cannot be discounted.
R5 KALGOORLIE FEED BARN HANDICAP 1300m 3:50
Punters will look forward to the fifth where a handy bunch of gallopers ill battle it out over the 1300m. DELRAY BEACH (5) resumed late in the season and has started to hit his straps recently. The Nazzari trained galloper went down a half head on Kalgoorlie Cup day. CASINO PRINCE (3) crossed the line in a photo finish in the same race as Delray Beach. The six year old has plenty of ability and can take the race out. PEGATEGO (7) steps up to open company today. The five year old holds a superior track record at the KBRC and has the draw to lead in the event. His most recent victory way dominant considering the 60.5kg on his back. MR MOTOWN (2) must be respected at the track with his record.
R6 WESTLAND AUTOS HANDICAP 1760m 4:30
The sixth on the card looks the toughest race for racegoers to decipher. The Helen Harding trained BOHEMIAN LASS (8) looks on that represents value after producing a good sectional last start. The Henny Hughes mare ran home in good fashion last start when the race was all over. Troy Turner will partner the five year old once again today who can be taken on an each way basis. BURKINA (1) did a mountain of work last start when finishing fourth. The lightly raced seven year old will have his tenth start today after finishing close up at his past two starts. Joanne Forrest will prepare ANTALYA (4) who comes off a three quarter defeat behind Kostyazilch last start. The five year old has raced in similar company since breaking maiden start and is an each way chance today. MY NAME IS SUE (3) copped some interference last start on the Charles Street side of the course. Keep him safe today.
R7 GOLDFIELDS ELECTRICAL CONTRACTORS HANDICAP 1600m 5:10
The last on the card has BOLLYWOOD BLITZ (1) engaged who annihilated his competition on Hannans Handicap day by five lengths. The Craig Wright trained galloper looks one that will settle in the first half of the field and prove hard to hold out in the run to the line. KALAVEDO (4) is looking for three in a row. The Freddo Brown trained galloper has resumed this preparation in brilliant style winning over 1300m and 1400m at his past two starts. He will step up to 1600m today where he has three attempts for the one placing. CAROB (5) has been racing well in the latter part of the season. The So secret mare kicked strongly last start to hold off the remainder of the field when running second to Bollywood Blitz. Veteran mare FUTURISM (7) is looking for her first win at the track at start seventy-seven. The mare has placed at both attempts at the track which have been this year.
