Greig Breaks His Duck by the Gurkha
Talented trainer Ian Greig celebrated his first win of the season after Red Destiny defeated Memphis Cowboy in a thrilling finish.
Greig had been around the mark through the deeds of Maradiego but had not trained a winner since Bonsoleil had won at Esperance in March.
The former leading harness reinsman had great success training thoroughbreds in the late 90ís enjoying city wins with San Sanatra who captured the 1998 Listed TJ Smith Trophy before failing to finish in the WATC Derby at his next start behind Kim Angel.
Greig had been off the scene for 13 years but is building up his team of gallopers with the recent arrival of Ella Rose and should enjoy continued success in the second half of the season.
