Wolfe Pack by The Gurkha

Steve Wolfe once again proved what a champion trainer he is by dominating the Race Round and winning the $5000 cash bonus for visiting trainers. However Helen Harding pushed Wolfe all the way to the line, going down by only one point 14 to 13.
Wolfe clinched the prize with Midnight Touch storming home late to narrowly miss catching Morsecodian in the last race of the Round and in doing so, lifted Wolfe to 14 points one more than Harding.
It was a stellar two days for Wolfe who won four races on Kalgoorlie Cup which followed the impressive win by The Expert on Hannanís Day.
Harding deserves a special mention in the way she was able to get her team of horses up and firing for the Round, following a long season of racing.
She produced Donneyonetime and Versaint to win on Wednesday and then enjoyed a $64 win with Perignon Don (www.kbrc.com.au Black Booker) on Kalgoorlie Cup Day.
Peter Fernie won the award for the leading local trainer even though the top trainer had to wait for the win of Morsecodian to enjoy success.
He had to endure the wrong end of several close photo finishes but was able to win the final photo of the season.
